win free iTunes, have to give apple your credit card number

So I have two free iTunes caps in my possession and I just tried to redeem them since the offer ends tomorrow (4/30/04). However, in order to redeem the songs tonight, Apple keeps on asking me for a Credit Card number to associate with my Apple username. To redeem *free* songs which I allegedly won.

I think I see a problem here folks.

UPDATE: Courtesy of a comment in this related blog post about the iTunes gift certificates, when you sign up for a new account on the Apple site, there is a "none" radio button in the credit card section. Apparently, I could not see the "none" radio button earlier.
