.wma to .mp3 converter
Another music file related question for you. My Mom has many of her files ripped into .wma format (I had nothing to do with that) and obviously can't play them on her iPod. Thusly, does anyone know of a good Windows based .wma to .mp3 ripper? I tried some last night, but I had no luck.
Update: I found out tonight that the reason why I was having problems last night is because I didn't grab the .wma codec. Many thanks to Michael for the suggestion.
Posted by joy at April 22, 2004 10:37 AM | TrackBackYou might want to try dBpowerAMP Music Converter. I've used it successfully on a lot of .wma stuff that I had and it works real well.
You'll also need to get the .wma codecs. Even if you have WMP v9 on your system, go ahead and get these and install them, it makes it easier. I couldn't get it to find the .wma codec until I used these files. As it says there, you'll have to download both of the files.
Good luck!

Going direct compression to compression (wma -> mp3) can sometimes cause problems.
