Movable Type hosting

If you are looking for a Movable Type hosting package, the Web/Mail host I use, AQHost, is now offering a Blog Hosting & Free Movable Type Installation Service.

Just to let you know, I've been using my Web host for nearly two years and I can't say enough good things about him. :-D

Hi Joy,

That may be the ticket. I am looking for a host for my Church, and if the install Movable type, that would save me the agrevation of doing it over again. Thanks :)

Can they do that without somehow violating the terms of use for that software? Wow, that's progress from the MT folks. Their previous attitude was why I dropped the software.

Joy, do you ever experience any connectivity issues with the Peak10 datacenter? I've had good luck hosting in the Planet datacenter, but I have a standalone project that I might wish to host elsewhere, and AQHost's prices seem competitive.

Kevin:

From what I understand, Six Apart offers a commercial license that allows Web hosts to offer installed Movable Type packages.

The previous problem you are referring to is that some people were offering MT install help and it was confusing as to whether or not it was tied into their hosting business. What eventually came down the pike, was the idea that you could help your friend/neighbor/boss install MT, but you had to do it for free or else get that commercial license.

As for AQHost uptime, the only unexpected downtime really was during the DDoS of a particular site that was on Hosting Matters. Otherwise, Simon has been completely on top of things since I've known him.
