Windows XP Service Pack 2 beta?

According to Robert Scoble's link to Betanews, there is supposed to be a public beta release of Windows XP Service Pack 2 today. The only problem is that the page for the SP2 release that was publicized isn't working and when one does a search for "windows xp service pack 2 beta" on their site, there are no results.

i think any product with 'microsoft' and 'beta' in the title is a BSOD waiting to happen.

I dunno, for some reason applying a beta version of a service pack gives me the heebie-jeebies.

I mean, if I install a beta version of, say, Mozilla (or even MS Word), if it turns out to have major problems I can always uninstall it. But a service pack tends to be a huge download that does Crazy Black Magic to the operating system. If it's flawed, I'm pretty much borked, no? I don't want to have to wipe everything and reinstall from a formatted HD just because the service pack wasn't ready.
