Intuit is sorry about CDilla
Slashdot is reporting today that Intuit is apologizing for the Turbo Tax fisaco and offering universal use product keys.
What was wrong with Turbo Tax? Well, the last release of Turbo Tax included some Digital Rights Management software called CDilla, which not only tied Turbo Tax to a particular computer but it also caused some not so great side effects -- like continual memory usage and not being to uninstall it without a special uninstaller.
While I can certainly understand a company's wish to halt software sharing, especially because Turbo Tax is usually one of those programs you use once a year, this was just a mistake.
