Mark Pilgrim makes a good point about why you should validate your page FIRST, then ask the gurus.

Yeah, I know, it's so easy to forget that little step when you are frustrated and banging your head against all wall because something doesn't look right in one browser but renders perfectly in a few others. And now you know why I barely have any patience for Web design.
